After click on a link in one of my friend’s MSN names, it took me to a Youtube video which just happened to be the Simpsons in an MMORPG. It seems every cartoon show is doing it, or just South Park other than The Simpsons so far (Watch the South Park episode). So here’s the Youtube video of The Simpsons in an MMORPG:
I’m now running the wonderful Redoable theme 1.2 by Dean Robinson. There are still a few minor glitches and things I want to add and things I want to remove. I’ll do a full post soon..
Hey everyone. I’m the newest member over at Blogsverise.com. Everyone wants to make some extra money on the side right? Well, maybe not everyone but I am one of those people who does. Thats why I joined blogsvertise. Unlike other sites, I don’t even have to bother about browsing pages and pages of opportunites (or be restricted to certain opportunites like PayPerPost’s segmentation system), I just simply have to check my email where I will receive what I have to write about. It’s like the daily newspaper (or in this case opportunities) coming to my inbox.
It’s a simple concept and one of the easiest ways to make money from your blog. So why not go to blogsvertise.com, sign up and await approval? Once approved you will start receiving opportunities in your inbox and then start making money! You are paid via Paypal once the post have been approved and the payout grace period has ended.
So go on, start blogging through Blogsvertise and save up for that new guitar or gadget that you’ve had your eye on for months!
Yes, this may be the easiest $100 you may ever make. How? Well after blogging about your opportunity to win a free printer, I would continue the theme with your chance to win $100. But How? Well I’ll let you in on a little secret: it has something to do with shark fishing, pipe smoking, learning how to play guitar, a yoyo and grip strength.
Confused already? Well head over to the post detailing the giveaway and maybe you’ll gain an insight. Basically once 20 people participate, the winner will be chosen at random to win $100. This means you have a 5% chance at winning $100! So why not check it out?
Over at the Donate Page I’ve put in some new incentives to Donate for all you link whores. So why not go and check them out? It’s the perfect chance for you to generate some extra traffic flow and links to your site/blog.
What do you do if you happen to have posession of a tesla coil, a hire car, a camera and some free time? You mount it on the roof of the car, of course. (The image was originally hosted on their site, but I uploaded it to ImageShack due to linking problems).
There are more pictures on the main site at tesladownunder.com. It’s a horribly designed site and annoying to navigate, but if you’re motivated to see some really cool pictures and 6 foot sparks, you’ll work it out.
I did say new printer, and yes, I did say for free. How? Well, Broc over at Existential Ventures has decided to run a competition. What’s the prize you say? Well, it’s only a Canon Pixma iP1700 Photo Printer (RRP $50).
How do I win? Simple. If you’re a member of MyBlogLog, all you have to do is join the Existential Ventures MyBlogLog Community and you’re in with a chance at winning yourself a new $50 printer. The competition will be drawn once the MyBlogLog community reaches 500 members.
But how the hell am I supposed to have a chance at winning against 499 other people? Well once again, here’s an easy way to heighten your chances of winning. All you have to do is blog about the competition and you receive 10 extra entries into the competition. Think of it as your name is written on 10 slips of paper and placed into a hat with all the other entries. You now have an 11 in 500 (the numbers may vary) chance at winning yourself a new printer, and you even saved yourself $50!
New from Square Enix good for some, bad for others. According to Playstation Universe, Square Enix has changed their business model to focus on remakes and sequels of their existing franchises. Said remakes and sequels will apparently be released across all platforms (there’s some good news in light of the bad), even including mobile phones.
The Japanese release of the Final Fantasy collections are selling quickly and in huge numbers over in Japan, so it’s no wonder Square Enix is heading this way. If gamers demand it, Square Enix should make it, especially a Final Fantasy VII sequel (they have my support!).
The Final Fantasy titles are somewhat always sequels anyway, considering they were always made in the same universe.
So what do you non-fans and fans alike think? Is it a good idea, a bad idea or should Square Enix totally rethink their new ‘business direction’?
After battling with a computer which Mcafee tried to pass off as a person (read the full log in my post Mcafee Customer Service Officially Sucks), I’ve decided to take my wallet elsewhere as I’m still waiting for a stupid bloody call from their Tier3 support 7 days later. I know she said 7 days but the company should try and make all their customers feel valued, isn’t that the first rule of customer service? I’m still looking for a new AntiVirus and open to suggestions provided it’s not Norton, AVG or Vet. The windows port of ClamAV is looking like a good option (and it’s open source, too!). Don’t have to pay any money either, so it’s not like it really matters if I like it or not. Drop me a comment if you’d like to make a suggestion about an Antivirus program or if you’ve got other tales of trouble with Mcafee or a different Antivirus company.
In other news, I’ve reached the 3000 spam mark. Props to the Akismet devs for the spam stopping goodness that is Akismet.
edit: I know you probably can’t see the submit button. It depends on the length of the post if you see it or not as I had to expand the comments to the length of the sidebar, otherwise the sidebar has a large chunk missing from it which makes it look ugly. Hurrah for my CSS skillz
The worst mistake I’ve made with this blog was not choosing a more appropriate domain name (blame a brain impulse for that).
These should be the steps when making that decision:
Select a niche or core topic for your site.
Clearly define the purpose and goals of your site.
Choose an appropriate domain name.
I think it’s obvious that I missed the boat on all of the steps.
When I started this blog I had no idea what I was going to write about and now that I’ve settled on some topics I’m starting to suffer for it.
Your choice of domain name can be the most important decision you make for your site and can make or break it too.
I’m #1 on Google’s search results page for “forged euphoriaâ€. Surprisingly I’ve actually had a few hits from people looking for this. I have no idea what they expected to find.
Anyway, the reason I’m #1 for that term is because everyone links to this site with the anchor tag “Forged Euphoriaâ€, so naturally I’m up there in the rankings. Problem is this isn’t the term I want to rank high with.
The key is choosing a domain that relates specifically to your niche and has your desired keywords in the title. For example if you were going to start a blog about cars, cars-blog.com or blog-about-cars.com would be two I’d consider using. When people link to you the majority of the time the anchor tag they’d use would be “Cars Blog†or “Blog About Carsâ€. Having people link to you is great, having them link with relevant keywords in the anchor tag is much much better. If your domain name contains keywords relevant to your niche you force people to link to your site with the exact keywords which will help you get a better search engine ranking.
If you’re thinking of buying a new domain first consider your niche and the purpose of your blog, before you even start throwing around ideas for names. Don’t make my mistake and get stuck trying to make the best of a bad situation.
Okay, so because my subscription to Mcafee renewed a month before it was due (Auto-Renew which I knew I had set on and wanted on) I was happy that I did’nt have to do it manually. But for some strange reason, the transaction was approved with the incorrect details. The Credit Card expiry date was 02/2021 which is pretty much impossible as most credit cards will surely expire before 14 years. So I decided to use McAfee’s online customer service and have a little chat with a representative:
Please wait while we find a customer service representative to assist you…
You have been connected to Nerice Maltland.
Nerice Maltland: Thank you for contacting McAfee customer service. How may I help you today?
Jarred Trainor: Hi, Recently My Subscription To Security Center Auto-Renewed. I am aware I have auto-renew enabled in my account but I am unsure as to how it could have renewed with the details on file
Nerice Maltland: Jarred, I’ll be happy to help you.
Jarred Trainor: The credit card number is correct, but for some bizarre reason the expiry date is set to 02/2021 which is incorrect.
Jarred Trainor: So I do not know how the transaction could have been approved with incorrect details
Nerice Maltland: McAfee works with the credit card companies and other financial institutions to ensure that your credit card information remains up to date so that your security will also be up to date and you are protected. If you have any further questions please contact you Credit Card Company or Financial Institution
Jarred Trainor: But how did my details get updated incorrectly if it is sourced from the company?
Nerice Maltland: Jarred, we are authorized to update the credit card information in your account, please contact McAfee customer service at 408-992-8599 and they will help you in this issue.
Jarred Trainor: I am outside of the US.
Nerice Maltland: Credit card information can be updated only by in your account.
Jarred Trainor: But I am unsure as to how this transaction was approved with the wrong details. I dont want to update my information
Jarred Trainor: I know I didnt update it to 02/2021
Nerice Maltland: Jarred, please contact your credit card company in order to know the correct expiry date of your card.
Jarred Trainor: I know the expiry date of my Card, I want to know why my expiry was that if you sourced it from the company and why the transaction was approved with incorrect details.
Nerice Maltland: Based on your issue, I will need to escalate this case to our Tier3 customer service team. Please provide me with your contact number and the time of day that is most convenient for you to receive a call back. Our escalation team will be in touch with you within the next 7 business days.
Currently experiencing network delays, one moment please….
Network connection re-established.
Jarred Trainor: I’m going to get the same answers from your Tier3 support as I am from you so I think I’ll just leave it at that.
Nerice Maltland: We will not be able access your credit card information but our Tier 3 support, would have a track of your credit card information.
Nerice Maltland: Please provide your contact number and the time of day that is most convenient for you to receive a call back.
Jarred Trainor: I am outside of the United States, do I need to prefix my number with the Country Code etc.?
Jarred Trainor: [number edited out] - Anytime after 6pm, GMT +10
Nerice Maltland: Thank you for the information. \
Nerice Maltland: I would like to ensure you’re satisfied with the support I offered. Is there anything else I may assist you with today?
Jarred Trainor: No thankyou, I will be awaiting a call from Tier3, hopefully they can solve my problem.
Nerice Maltland: You may receive a survey from McAfee in the next couple of days that will give you an opportunity to provide feedback on the support I’ve offered. This information will be used to further improve our support. You may end this chat at your convenience. Thank you for visiting the McAfee Customer Service.
Firstly, incompetence anyone? Some of those automated answers had nothing to do with what I wanted. Secondly, they’re a major company. Maybe spend some time fixing the errors in your automated responses? And seriously- If they’re sourcing their information from the companies themselves, how did I get an expiry date of 02/2021 and why was the transaction approved with incorrect information? That was basically a waste of time. Personally, I think McAfee should have some sort of questionnaire before starting the chat session so you can be redirected to the appropriate department, no have to go through a bunch of crappy automated answers only to wait a further 7 days for call from their ‘Tier3′ Support. I am sure I’ll be receiving the same sort of answers from them, too. I’ll keep you posted.
After reading a post on Paul O’Flaherty’s blog entitiled Keyword Fun, I decided I’d join in and just have a bit of fun too. He used the last 14 days, but there’s quite a few good ones previous to the last 14 days for this blog that I’d decided to do 2007 to this date (January 1 - April 13). Here Goes:
January

So WLM has decided to cease working — conversation windows won’t show. I can select the window and type fine, but I can’t see any replies etc. I have even removed WLM + MsgPlus to no avail. I tried Gaim but it seems to crash everytime it tries to grab my login cookie, so I’m stuck with meebo for the time being. Oh the joys of Windows.
So, I’m sitting here waiting for Java to install and figured I would write something. As you may or may not see at the footer of the page, there is a small Feedburner chicklet which shows the amount of subscribiers to my RSS feed. It always manages to hover in the 10-20 range but it’s not the numbers I’m concerned about (even though more subscribers is always good, hint hint!) — Feedburner seems to be giving me false positives.
For this domain I have email subscription activated and you can sign up for it by visiting the Subscribe Page. Now, when you login to Feedburner as some of you may know, it tells you who is subscribing to your feed and using what (Outlook, Google etc.) There is also a section for Feedburner Email Subscriptions believe it or not. It also displays everything in a nice purdy pie graph. To avoid the risk of making this sound like I’m working for Feedburner as their new advertising exec, I’ll move on.
Under Feedburner Email Subscriptions for this blog, It has been showing me 1 or 2 subscribers. I click ‘Manage Email Subscriptions’ and it takes me to the page where I can edit my settings and it would (or, should) show me these ‘phantom’ subscribers. There are no emails in the list! Email Subscribers: 0. I have the option enabled for Feedburner to email me once someone unsubscribes — but I have received absolutely no emails from Feedburner saying so. So of course the logical thought process will have led you to some sort of conclusion that goes like this: People subscribe via Email, thus Feedburner realises this and adds them to the subscriber list in the Feed Control panel. So logically their email would appear. But they have chosen to unsubscribe so Feedburner should also realise this and email me telling me that they have chosen to unsubscribe. No email in my inbox? Something’s wrong here..
So if anyone has been getting the same sort of problems give me a shout, I would like to see what’s really going on here.
Detective Aeriff, Over and out.
Edit: after today’s Feedburner update, my subscriber numbers went from 13 to 20 so that’s a good thing. But what this edit is actually about it the fact I’m still getting the phantom subscriber. Something strange going on over there at Feedburner..
So here I am, blogging again after a weekend away from the computer. I managed to kick the flu somewhat, although I’m not back to 100%. Hope the Easter Bunny was nice to you all, he skipped me and left me a note saying ‘IOU Easter Eggs’. I’ll make sure he lives up to that next year. In other news, I’ve passed the 2,000 spam mark. Not much of a milestone, but props to Akismet and it’s creators. Now to get back to the blogging..
Just to let my readers know I’ve planned to take a short break over this weekend (April 6-April 9) for a bit of a Rest and Relaxtion. I’ve had the flu all week so maybe a bit of rest will do me good and maybe I can shake the flu. Have a good easter!
If you wish to do so, totally disregard this rather pointless post. But anywho, keep reading if you like and comment, or just pretend you’ve read it and comment anyway. (I’m electrix in the log.) Taken from #killagraphix

Rather then try to come up with some sort of prank that is half believable, I just thought I’d wish you all a happy April Fool’s Day readers! So get out there and maybe try a few pranks, I’m sure the internet will be awash with them today!
